There were over 15,000 runners this year and it was a great day for a run. We had perfect weather being overcast and in the upper 40′s and a course that went through the heart of the city. Congratulations to our runners and what an experience.

It was perfect weather for running, this morning in WaHi. Congrats team on the turnout! Here are few more stats courtesy of NYRR–
Total Finishers: Men – 2,568 Women – 2,402 Total – 4,970
Here are a couple of shots from the race, courtesy of Sam Adams–

Here is the 2012 team race schedule. Keep in mind there is one team race a month and it would be great to get as many teammates there as possible. Registration for races in April, May & June opens Monday. Be sure to sign up sooner than later—races have been filling up quickly.
Salsa, Blues & Shamrock’s 5K (March 4th)
Scotland Run 10k (April 7th)
Brooklyn Half Marathon (May 19th)
NY Mini 10K (Women Only) (June 9th)
Portugal Day 5M (Men Scored Only) (June 17th)
Central Park Conservancy 4M (July 14th)
Club Championships 5M (double Points) (August 4th)
Harlem 5k (August 25th)
5th Ave Mile (September 22nd)
Norway Run Half Marathon (September 29th)
ING NYC Marathon (November 4th)
Join The Voices (December 2th)
It was a humid day (81%), but the race was a good one. It is a bummer that so much of our club has moved or is on vacation this week, because the turnout for the double points weekend wasn’t spectacular. But we will take what we can get. For the women, Reagan and Anna were holding down the fort with some solid times–

Jake and Sam showed up to represent for the NYRC men–

There are now only 5 club points races remaining this year (including the NYC Marathon). Hope to see a bit better turnout at the remaining races. It would be especially good to get a solid group together for the Norway Day Half Marathon, to honor the late Grete Waitz (the race is named Grete’s great gallop, after her) since she passed away earlier this year. Here is a link to register. Here are a few more stats from today’s races–

Way to go team! We had a better than expected turn out at the Bk Half. What is especially awesome is the fact that we had 3 running couples representing in this race. Kudos to the Astles, Hardies and the Kownatzki’s. We had respectable times from everyone involved.
Next team race is ladies only: Mini 10k
